Mono-amp
Back in the earyl 2000's, I started to build my own power amplifier, based on modules from Thel Audio.
Features[edit]
- Dual Mono
- Two complete separated blocks.
- Mirrored construction
- Move both block next to each other and it should look like a symetrical dual channel power amplifier.
- AC input
- No external power supply for all of my projects.
- XLR balanced audio input
- Alternatives are single ended through XLR or something digital.
- Speakon output for speaker
- State of the art, but overkill. Will be changed to normal speaker connectors
- Wooden front
- No switches on the front
- Just a LED to show the current state of the amplifier
- Inrush current protection
Housing[edit]
Original I ordered two housings from Monacor. One of them is already modified for the first test and I want to build a matching pre-amplifier. This must be in the same housing. Unfortunately, they are no longer available. After a long research, I found replacement housings at Hifi 2000. As soon as this project get running again, I will order the housings.
